In all seriousness, I see something square and white inside his torso, gotta imagine it gets folded up into his torso :-?

Still looks too plain, I love how they include 'dumbed down' bumpers to remove what little detail the figure already has =;

Me too, I like the hip skirt, and he has a nice chunkiness to him, I just wish it had more detailing; I'd also likely like Grapple more, but I'd rather Artfire 8-) Figure Artfire will go the Loudpedal route of being an even exclusive

This looks tons better than the grey model. Lining details on the arms that weren't there before, looks natural in the poses they've got it in, and wow, those accessories! Is that a Red Alert cradle? Because that's friggin hilarious. And great.

HOLY COW, look at those accessories!! A second helmet! TWO additional front bumpers! All to allow people to choose between the preliminary and finalized character model designs! OR the toy-accurate chrome bumper! So much variety! :-D

Brilliant! I was not expecting that ladder to hide away. Those Masterpiece designs are all so clever.

Now, next question, how big is it? I'm assuming they'll scale him for robot mode rather than vehicle.

Any idea how big Inferno will be, is he more Ironhide size, I cant see him being smaller, but larger? I could only find a few images from the show, Inferno seems to be a bit taller. Image

His lower half still needs the details I previously mentioned, but the rest of him looks fantastic. I love the ladder "magic". Now that's a Transformer! I wonder if you can leave the ladder exposed for a G1 toy look. The accessories are awesome as well. Might have to get two for gallery comparison shots. Gotta see more pics with the accessories attached/swapped to see how significant it is.

Yep, I knew people would change their tunes with just a simple addition of color to the prototype. ;) I'm loving the accessories. The Transformation looks to be top-notch. Despite some recent quibbling on detailing, color choice, or complexity on some recent Masterpiece releases, I think it's safe to say that things are still rolling out really well and won't be slowing down any time soon! :D

Really /:)

Both my, and Seib's opinions haven't changed, we still maintain that the figure needs more detailing on the lower half; everyone else was all for this figure...

If it makes you feel any better, he does have painted rims, so that's a big plus for me ;)^

Either way, I'd still hold out for an Artfire before getting out-fer-yes

He looks great!

But what are the insignia stickers for? Looks like all three bumpers already have symbols.. the real-world one has the regular symbol, and the two simplified ones have the "Sunbow" one.

Altmode customization, perhaps? Giving people the option of putting an Autobot or fire dept symbol anywhere one want to on the altmode?

Maybe the extra Autobot stickers are for applying over the tampoed symbols if one prefers one over the other? Like I suggested they should have done with Shockwave.

Well this is just absolute sex. Like many others I'm waiting to see how Grapple will look though; think around that time we'll get a Hoist (and hence Trailbreaker) considering grapple and hoist were as much bros as inferno and red alert?

Wow, he looks great!

I agree that he is lacking some detail, but that could still change. Some shows he's all red, some he has a black hip section.

I think my favorite thing is the fire hose accessory. Maybe I'm looking at it wrong, but is that the trap hose that Chumley sets for Inferno in Prime Target?

If it is, this is the best accessory ever!

Third party Masterpiece-esque figures are generally impressive, but as usual, Takara shows who is the master. Three different 3P Inferno releases and none tried (or managed) to do away with the ladder. The official MP can even turn his head with the wings.

The alternative head-design is also a nice touch.

Most interesting thing I've read thus far.

And I'd love for them to do the whole Grapple and Hoist thing. I want my Trailbreaker! :MAXIMAL:

My wallet is going to need some major surgery this year, Thrust, Primal, now Inferno and the inevitable Grapple repaint.

That's before I mention all the cool Titan's stuff.

Now this Inferno is a true masterpiece. This is one of, if not best, looking MP figures of them all. Really cool to add all the optional pieces too. Kinda wish he was CHUG size though since I don't collect MP. Wanted a good Sunbow voyager Inferno for years now.

It does seem like Masterpieces do suffer a bit in the behind department, doesn't it? It's like the opposite of the Figma line and their legendary ass tech.

Anyway, I do love this. But between the 3 different Infernos available (not counting KFC's efforts because KFC) I'm not sure what looks best. MP Inferno is official, looks really cartoon accurate, somehow manages to hide the ladder and has an awesome vehicle mode, but there's something about the proportions and the particular shade of red I don't like. Maketoys Hellfire has a nicer shade of red, better proportions and is a "known quantity" (It's already out and we know it's good, whereas the others are in prototype stage) but there's some annoying partsforming, slightly weak vehicle mode and he lacks chrome in some areas. MMC's Backdraft is really nice looking, with chrome, awesome proportions and great engineering (and also Studio Ox goodness) but not very much is known about him and given MMC's schedule, with the official product revealed there's a good chance he may not even come out.

Not, of course, that I have the space for a Masterpiece display...

In fact, don't the whole back sides of the legs look kinda like the front of the G1 toy's legs? :-?

So amazing looking. I think this MP is waay better than all the other 3rd pary Infernos, plus I would try to buy Hasbro/Takara when I can. Inferno has always been cool to me because as a kid he had the same accent as me and the people where I live, lol.
