Reliable eBay seller Bodhar2000 shares a little warning for those purchasing the Japanese store exclusive Henkei Thrust and Dirge:
Hello,
This is just a notification that all the orders have been fulfilled one day ahead of schedule, so you all should be receiving these in a few days. Also, just a word of warning about the seekers. The wings do not fold back in robot mode like they do with Henkei Ramjet (they kind of just stick out of the sides in bot mode). I already had one buyer snap off his wing and ask for a replacement. Unfortunately these are sold out and irreplaceable, so please pay attention to the instructions *before* transforming him.
Ok that’s all I guess, and look for your package in the mail sometime this week!
Best Regards,
-B2K-
Just a word of caution to the community, so that you can keep your toys in one piece. I don't have mine yet, so I have no personal experience with the 'new' wings yet.

Not this time, I've dealt with Bodhar, he does quality work, and if he sees the product is f'ed, I doubt he would ship it.

But it's not Bodhars responsibility to replace it.

With no shortage of plastic or cheap labor on that side of the world I cant understand how they justify charging 40 to 60 bucks for a figure. Im dying to get Thrust and Dirge but I will wait for some extravagent collecter to face forclosure and sell his collection cheap on e-bay...lol
Henkai close shop? You do realize that makes no sence, It's like saying I hope armada doesn't reopen.
The cost is higher due to the smaller production run, just as the convention specials are more expencive. The rising costs of business do not effect costs as much as you seem to think they do.

You're right on this. I was immediately thinking of the primary wings that fold up behind the upperback/shoulder area, but when I read your post, I realized that someone tried to put the back fins at an angle, like you do with Ramjet.
Here's a recent thread that shows that the main wings do fold up:

If you had Henkei Ramjet, you'd have a better understanding of this.
His wings fold back and rotate on a peg, however, they are most of the time quite tight to begin with. The guy that broke his was probably under the assumption that Thrust and Dirge were the same way.

Dirge might be my first Gentai purchase, but not if his fragility or QC are in question.

Hope these guys ship out soon.

I have to say, I like them better than I thought that I would. Dirge's wings are much more accurate (minus the striping) than the Botcon wings.
Thrust's color is more accurate than the Botcon version, but the Botcon version has a better overall look, in fact both Botcon versions I believe are better.
The VTOL fans on Thrust are just pegged into the holes on his wings, above or below the big, and below on the small. It is one piece, not a wrap around piece as many had previously thought.
AS far as Bodhar's warning, it was nice to have, but I believe most collectors will be just fine, unless the toy is flawed when sent to them.
I find these two to be sturdier than the TC and SW releases. The joints are tighter, the cannons fit into the shoulders much better.
If you were on the fence, and were considering getting them, I suggest the pair, especially if you do not have the Botcon set. There are enough differences to merit having them if do already have the Botcon set as well.
Overall, a realy nice release. I could do without the wing stripes, but they are not deal breakers.

You are probably right. Dirge's are fixed. The wings are not adjustable. The lower portion anyway. The upper portion does what Ramjet's does to allow for arm movement, and the split at the waist where the legs extend.
Diem wrote:I'm surprised Dirge has this issue, given that his wings are comparatively similar to Ramjet's.

He's a good one. I would consider a second because of the remolded wings. They look good. NO QC issues with mine.

Well, yeah, considering you have not been collecting Animated and probably really want something new. They are cool to compare with the Botcon versions, and different enough to merit their own space on your shelf.

Hey CP, do you usually collect both Classics and Henkei? I usually only purchase one version of each character (either Classics or Henkei, not both). I also have the Botcon Thrust & Dirge (which are pretty cool), but am seriously considering buying the Henkei ones, simply because they do have remolded wings and different paint apps (especially their more cartoon-accurate, lighter faces). Unique enough for me, if I can afford it.
But I'm not too keen on the lightning bolts.
