Like Prime's alt modt too. Just goes to show you don't need flames on a truck to give it character/depth.

did hell freeze over?
they...they...dont look like bug faces....
this might be good

Aside from that, these designs kick butt.

Megatron, on the other hand... I'm not so sure about that. I'll probably need to see it in action before my opinion is secure, but I am willing to let it grow on me.

This, but I think I'll be the first and last to say...
WHERE ARE THE BUG FACESSS!!?!?!?!???!!!!
I loved that aspect of the movies...

Also, just to clarify, they did say at botcon that there are no plans for a Prime toyline. (a bit unfortunate for Cliffjumper) But hey, maybe they will put a few in Generations?

And yay for Cliffjumper getting to be a little more awesome now XD. I always did like him, and those horns are terribly cute.

I can see why, since Prime is movie based, but at the same time not looking movie-ish, it's toys wouldn't go with the movie line well....but then again, I can't see why O_o
The human characters will probably be annoying, I also don't get the random 3 different races thing they do in every series....I'd rather just little to no humans, we don't want another Kicker...

Optimus Prime especially looks like he would be very kibbly if they ever made a toy. But then again, they have made leaps and bounds with the movie transformations lately.
I know what you mean, there are too many large smooth rounded parts on the robots to transform. Arcee doesn't even have wheels in robot mode. They all look kinda generic and don't have a lot of distinguishing features.

Cliffjumper also looks nice.
Glad to see the bug faces are gone with the exception of Bumblebee- which is just stupid. Sick of his weird Johnny 5 look. Please bring back the face. Plus it's weird and inconsistent with the otherwise awesome design work.
Maybe it's just a battlemask. One can hope.
Megatron is a little too spiny for my tastes. He looks less like a Transformer, and more like an empty suit of armor.
So with all this work being put into clean silhouettes and nice faces and good design work in general- a big question still remains. How could the movies look any worse? Here's yet another cartoon outclassing them.
"Meh" to the movies I say!
"edit"
The one other movie aspect I don't like are Prime's chest windows. They come out too far- like he has weird implants. I can see that they were trying to homage the movie, and also make him look all muscly- but the just look awkward.

Just because it hasn't been official announced doesn't mean there won't be one.
I like these except for Arcee but that might change.
Ratchet looks very WFC just with an earth alt-mode now and Cliffjumper is BOSS!

I new about Miko I knew she was a girl but unknown on what she will really look like to me Miko looks like to be 15 or 16 sort of like Ben 10 teens she seems to be like a tomboy of sorts.
Rafeal seems to be a little younger also seems to be a bit of a tech geek.
The other seems to be cool and collected or cocky and smug unknown on him also all three seem to be in the early teens.
So Prime takes places years after the movies. Also to me Prime seems to be lookin more like Beast Machines more than Beast Wars although the two were almost indentical I pick Beast Machines.
I love the designs from Megs looks awesome like Movie 1
Prime seems to me mixed with Animated and crossed with Cybertron with a blend of Live Action.
Optimus seems to be a mixed with Cybertron and Animated.
Megs is more Movie 1 than anything.
I am liking what I see of Prime I can wait to see more on Prime.
I also love Cliff Jumper and Arcee remember these arent final versions expect to be much diffrent.

if it was a toon FOR the movies then fine. but no.
also, a randomly named japanese girl does not please 'anime' transformer fans, nor does it make you cool or homaging the heritage.
I would also be more impressed if Rafael esquivel's nickname was 'the squirel' but no...let's show our creative genius and call him 'Raf'!
if the story is good (which it seems to be going toward) I'll give it a go. Fave voice actors back in the chair means I 'll definetly watch. But, come on?

Hasn't almost every TF cartoon had a toyline?
I highly think we are going to get a toyline. For example, A kid watches Animated and he really likes Starscream. He's gonna want a Starscream toy. Besides, with such badass CG designs, who WOULDN'T want a toyline?

That imo would make a good toyline even better! I would not me mad at that.

Megatron turned out well; it's like they actually pulled it off the jet mode the movie tried to do. I iike they have general troopers, that means there will be more effective fighting and taking down enemies without losing anyone vital.
Bumblebee was obvious, Ratchet is logical, wasn't expecting Cliffjumper not be Bumblebee. Arcee has legs!

True but like the movie designs, the alt modes don't technicaly transform to their robot mode, so unlike animated, we will not have a line that looks like the show. Just like the movie toys, they will be a poor compramise.
I actually think these look like GUNDAM inspired designs. There is some movie influence, bu they are more armoured, which is a plus for me, they look very animated, I just wish some of the faces were better, but overall, this is very nice.
I like the fact that they have developed the designs. We are given something new and different, and alot of the times it's rubbish, but they don't sitt and dwell on it they move on, so I have to give Hasbro props. I know they don't want transformes to go stale, I just wish that with all this drive to breather life into an already lively franchise, that they would take a bit more care, becuase they put out as much ribbish as they do good, if they could adress the balance I wouldn't feel so much shame in admitting to people I'm a transformer fan. I hate being associated with being a fan when people think of what Michael Bay has put out there.

They need to stop making Bumblebee so kick-ass and make him the cute friendly little guy again. More importantly, he needs to have a mouth.
Where's Starscream? I really want to see Starscream! I'm worried because they totally screwed up his design in the live action movies and Animated.

I agree on the pink vs. blue. However,I quit like Arcee as a bike, it gives her a smaller/lighter, and female feel imo.

The panel at botcon said not toyline. Think about it though, first, these things would make aweful toys, the robot modes do not look anything like they transfer into the vehicle. Plus, It just looks like cartoony versions of movie characters, and with RotF clogging the shelves, and not to mention the new movie next summer, the thought of another toyline probably doesn't make sense to them. They'd just abandon it for Transformers 3 and never bring it back even though they said they'd finish off the series with the mold they already had designed and planned. Stupid Hasbro.

Jesterhead wrote:I don't think there has been a definitive "No" in regards to a toyline. I think Hasbro is waiting to gauge the popularity of TF:P and the demand for the toys before they go full steam ahead on production. Hasbro has had amazing engineering in the past, I don't see why decent looking toys for these designs are not possible. Of course they can't be 100% toon accurate, but I don't think thats a good enough reason for Hasbro to not cash in on a toyline.
This. IIRC from the Botcon panels Hasbro wouldn't answer questions about a toyline except to say that their focus was strictly on the show at this point. I agree that the lack of development on a toyline for TFP might have to do with Hasbro wanting to see how the show fares first.
I don't get the "zero show-accuracy" argument, either, especially in light of Animated (and especially some of the ROTF figures in comparison to their counterparts from the first movie's line).

And last time, Starscream was pink. I see where this is going.

Animated's designs were simple, the only iffy part at first was them just capturing the cartoon look, which they pulled off.
In this case, Optimus goes from a blocky Semi to what only can be described as Optimus Primal for beast machines but with windows on his chest. These things would have more kibble than the BW Neo toys. At best they would be very kibbly, at worst complete shell-formers.

This, plus I don't see many vehicle parts on any of them. Optimus has the windshield on his chest and Ratchet has a wheel on his arm, that's about it.
